Protect Your Network Against Web Threats
Are you suffering from misconceptions about safe web browsing? You might think you’re being safe, but with a newly infected webpage discovered every few seconds, it’s next to impossible to stay up to date on infected sites—no matter how educated or aware of the risks you are.
To start this assessment, ask yourself some questions.
Do you and your users practice safe web browsing? Avoid risky sites? Limit time spent online during work hours? Employ a rock-solid internet access policy? Use a secure browser? Have the experience to know a risky site when you see one?
If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, you need to read the rest of this report.

FIGHTING TERRORISM NOW EVERYONE'S JOB
NIRMAN BHARATI, MADHUKAR MAZIRE YOUTH FORUM
What Can I Do About Terrorism?
The first thing a person should do about terrorism is to learn to respect it. Terrorism is real and it is very dangerous. When I say respect terrorism, I don't mean that you have to educate yourself on every faction and extremist organization that exists today. What I'm saying is that you must learn to respect the threat and the problem.
To respect terrorism, you simply must learn to pay attention. I would recommend teaching
yourself to pay closer attention by monitoring what goes on around your home. Monitor
stationary objects. Monitor people. Monitor animals. Monitor anything and everything.
Stationary objects around your home are key to monitoring changes. Changes to stationary
objects could mean somebody is attempting to enter, observe you or your home.
Talk to your neighbors. Get to know them. This doesn't mean that you have to have dinner dates and have them over for a barbecue. This simply means speak to them, say hello, wave at them and smile. You should recognize your neighbors and recognize that something if wrong.
I wouldn't advise that you tell your neighbors are getting to know them to better monitor possible terrorist attacks in your neighborhood. Of course, but will think you're nuts. I would suggest simply being friendly.
Neighbors also play a key role in identifying if anything unusual was going on around your home
while you were away. They can let you know if a strange vehicle was parking and observing your
home or if anybody was moving about your property without your knowledge.
Learn to utilize tools, such as eyes and ears. The eyes and ears come from neighbors and
associates. As mentioned earlier, they can help you identify a potential problem before it
happens. To get a little more in depth, you can actually create a log. The log would be used to record events that you feel may be significant to the security of your home or workplace. Make sure you include the date, information source, description, time and a large blank to place other important information.
This log can be very important in passing, accurate information to law enforcement agencies.
The more detailed the log entry, the easier it is for police to investigate any potential problems.
What else can you do about terrorism?
One of the biggest problems today is the effect the threat of terrorism has on our personal rights. A lot of people become very frustrated and agitated to have to submit to security and law
enforcement in regards to security.
This is a very difficult subject for many. A lot of people become infuriated or embarrassed when
they are scrutinized further for security reasons.
There are many people that will attempt to provoke law enforcement and security into stringing
them further for a possible threat.
They do this so they can claim that their rights are being violated or they are being profiled for
discriminatory reason. This is done in order to file a FIR for monetary gain.
FIGHTING TERRORISM NOW EVERYONE'S JOB
THERE IS NO PRIORITY HIGHER THAN THE PREVENTION OF TERRORISM
•
People that file bogus FIR or stimulate unfounded emotions in others simply gain attention are
a major problem when it comes to the war on terror. The problem is our police officers and
public servants have to focus on two problems. One of the problems is the actual terroristic
threat and the other problem is the individuals attempting to stir up controversy so that they
may sue for a large sum of money.
So, with that being said, swallow your pride. Understand that security a law-enforcement or
simply performing a duty. Do not take it personal. Do not try to turn it into a matter in which it
is not. Understand that this is a war that requires cooperation.
How do you protect your home from terrorism?
There are many things you should not do. For example, many people had a spare key
outside. Do not do this. If you're being observed, you may not know it. An observer may see
you hide the key then have easy access to your own.
Learn to place all of your possessions, items and outdoor tools and a certain place and ensure
that you always keep it in that place. This will allow you to observe a disturbance of something
is out of place. Keep windows locked. Add extra security to your windows. Keep doors locked. Home alarms that emit loud noise is very effective in the touring not only criminals. But anyone attempting to enter your home illegally.
Owning a dog is a good idea. An inside dog is even better. The reason for this is that he will
alert you when anything unusual is going on. If you're not home, and the dog is inside, but he
will bark when someone is attempting to disturb or enter your home. This will commonly scare
them away.
• Educate your children.
Your children should know how to dial 100. Believe it or not, many children have no idea that
they should call 100 in an emergency. A lot of kids are scared to call 100 when they feel
something is wrong. Teach them that it is better to call 100 and nothing be wrong than not call
and they're actually being a problem.
Another tactic used by criminals and possibly somebody meaning harm would be to call your
home, and if a child answers, ask them if a parent is available. The child unknowingly he
would answer no if nobody's home. This will alert the intruder to the fact that there is only a
child at home.
Teach the child to always tell anybody calling home that a parent is sleeping, showering or not
available. This would inform their possible intruder that there is an adult present.
Live life like you always have.
Terrorism is designed to change your life into a life of fear. Overcome fear. That is what you
must do. When I say live your life like you always have, I did not mean to lead a blind life. As stated above, pay attention. However, carry on with the things that you've always done. While doing the things you've always done, pay attention to your surroundings.
A lot of people believe that there is a bigger threat after 13th Feb or 26/11 than before 13th
Feb. This is false. There has always been a threat. And there always will be a threat. Accept
it, pay attention, smile and enjoy life.

Implement Online Voting In Political Elections
With advancing technology this is really a good move.this will ensure a higher voting turn out in our elections which is very necessary in a democratic country.if this gets implemented then many higher executives of private companies who due to their busy schedule and the youth who is quite irreseponsible in cating its votes will turn up and can make a difference. as of today the elections have lost their significance which is not a good sign for worlds largest democracy.so please consider this as a an appeal to help this democracy survive.
Thousands of people serving in the military and Indian civilians living abroad will have that option to caste vote through Internet voting,The Secure Electronic Registration and Voting Experiment.every citizen has a right to caste their vote.
"What I am trying to do is make sure that we have an alternative out there for those people who are unable to vote by mail or can't be present at a voting time, can't find their names in voting list.
" As I feel,"Internet voting takes just seconds instead of weeks if you were to put that ballot in the mail and send it off,
" Voters can register to vote and cast their ballots from any computer using Microsoft Windows with Internet access. Local election officials will use the system to process voter registration applications, send ballots to voters and accept voted ballots instantly.
International plans:-
Several countries are now planning to experiment with internet voting.
Advantages of online voting:-
Proponents of online voting have argued that it could increase voter turnout, However, this is by no means certain. Only a minority of the Indian population has home internet access, and many of those who do not vote are unlikely to have ready access to computers. Home internet uptake has been rapid (faster than TV in the 1990s) and the proposed switch-off of analogue TV by the end of the decade could result in near-universal access to interactive services via digital TV. source: FPRConvenience. People are increasingly using the internet for transactions, and through its Online project, the Government aims to deliver all its services to citizens online by 2020. Online voting would add to the convenience of being a citizen. It may particularly appeal to younger voters (among whom voter turnout has tended to be particularly low). Online voting could allow more information to be displayed about candidates and their policies. But this would conflict with existing laws about not campaigning in the immediate vicinity of a polling place and would need to be strictly supervised. It could reduce expenses involved in setting up and staffing poll sites. However, new voting arrangements would, at least at first, be in addition to existing systems. This would entail large additional costs and several years of government investment. Concerns about online voting .

Be Part Of The FIRST TIME VOTERS
Young voters comprise the majority of the voting population for the 2009 elections. This doesn’t only mean the youth can swing the results of the elections, but it also tells us the power of the youth to significantly contribute to the institutionalization of deeper and meaningful reforms in our political system.Using this power is not only important, but also necessary and urgent. The country is currently facing a serious political and economic crisis. The space for reforms provided by Govt/Non Govt Agencies has been bastardized by traditional politicians who put personal and myopic interests above the interests of the nation. Competence, credibility, and good governance have been replaced by popularity, prominent family names, and wealth.Voting and being active during elections would not guarantee immediate reforms and changes in our political system. However, it is an important start: by electing as many progressive candidates as possible, the chance of having more reforms and changes in our politics becomes greater.
HOW TO CHOOSE A CANDIDATE:There will be thousands of candidates that will be running for different positions in the coming polls. Add that to the Cores of voters who will flock to their precincts and you’d probably consider skipping this elections and staying at home instead.Much of the stress that takes place during election day can be significantly reduced if we go to our polling booth ready and well prepared. And we don’t prepare for the election on the day of voting itself: this must be done much earlier to have the advantage of time to learn more about our candidates, or our own position on issues. Here’s a simple step by step guide to a well-informed and stress-free voting
KNOW YOUR ISSUES: Instead of relying on the candidates to tell you about the issues that you should hear from them, why not do it other way around this time? Remember, elective candidate are supposed to represent you and the people’s concern should set the priority issues or platform of the candidate. One practical thing to do is to list down the issues that you feel strongly about. Many young Indians feel strongly about the kind of education that they get, or how accessible education is, or the chances of getting a job after their studies. Others are more interested in their participation in the government’s decision-making processes, etc.
IMAGINE THE SOLUTIONT: his isn’t as hard or difficult as it sounds. We don’t have expect young voters to have the solution to the problems and issues that the country faces. But the idea is, other than knowing what issues the candidates should champion, we should also have a sense on how they should propose to solve or handle issues. One good way to do this is to contact other youth groups, talk in your friend circle, discuss with your family members or civil society organizations that have done research on specific issues and have proposed policies or solution to these issues.
KNOW THE CANDIDATES: It’s election season and a lot of traditional politicians are spending millions of Rupees to project a different and a more attractive image. This makes it difficult to get more information directly from the candidates, but then we need to be persistent. There are many possible sources of background information on the candidates, if the candidate is a re-electionist, then get a copy of the candidate’s voting record. This would tell us how they decided on certain issues. Obtain a list of the bills that he or she supported or voted against, his or her project and programs, and get a copy of his or her statement of assets and liabilities to see his or her financial or business interests. If a candidate is not an incumbent, then get a copy of his or her platform and position papers. Be attentive to the media reports on the candidate. If worse comes to worse, then brave the candidate’s campaign sortie, where sometimes voters can get a chance to talk to the candidate directly.Look into leadership skills of the candidate. Does he or she accept invitations to debates or does he or she have the patience to listen to the voters? Are his or her campaign materials accurate?
EVALUATE WHAT YOU GOT: Candidates oftentimes have political operators that write their speeches or develop their platforms. This makes it important to evaluate the materials that you have obtained to have a more discerning and critical assessment of the candidate. A lot of candidates avoid ambush interviews from the press precisely because they do not know a thing about important issues and at times this is more revealing than the impressive resumes that were provided by the candidate’s campaigners.
TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK: Talk to your friends or to your family about your impressions of the candidate. This helps broaden our perspectives on the issues that we care about and may even help us obtain more information and data for our political decisions. Remember, though, not to discount your personal opinions or perspective of others. Be broad-minded. Since you are doing this way before the Election Day, you have the luxury of time to analyze all the stuffs that you’ve heard.
FINAL …Review your data and compare the candidates, ask yourself who among the candidates champion the issues you feel strongly about. Check, who is doing his or her campaign fair and square. Then choose the candidate that you will vote for.OUTPUT Of course if you feel strongly about the candidate, and if you really want him or her to win, you can always join his or her campaign!
Pls mail Or Sms us your name to find your voting list and polling booth details. OR Join us! We, in the First Time Voters Network are welcoming young advocates to be with us in our campaigns and activities.
